Frequently Asked Questions

Is BENDT Distilling Co. family friendly?

Absolutely! All public areas of the distillery are open to guests of all ages. We do ask that all guests under 21 years of age be accompanied by an adult over 21, and that anyone underage not sit directly at the bar. Additionally, all tours are strictly limited to adults 21 years of age or older.

Do you offer drinks/cocktails without whiskey?

We make a variety of spirits in our distillery and offer them in a number of craft cocktails. We generally have something for everyone, and offer cocktails made with vodka, rum, gin, agave spirit and a number of other spirits and liqueurs.

Can I bring my baby/child/teenager on a tour?

Unfortunately, no. ALL tours are strictly limited to adults 21 years or older, no exceptions. Valid government issued ID is required for all tour guests.

Can I smoke in the whiskey garden?

That’s a hard NO. We are a fully functional distilled spirits plant, so any open flames could be catastrophic to us, you and our neighbors. There is absolutely no smoking anywhere on our property. If you would like to smoke, we ask that you step off of distillery property to do so.

Do you serve beer/wine?

As of 2022, we do! Guests to the distillery can order a variety of BENDT Beers (using BrewVo technology), or they may choose from multiple wines, available by the glass or by the bottle.

Is BENDT Distilling Co. dog friendly?

Well-behaved and leashed dogs are allowed with their humans in our whiskey garden only. Due to permitting issued by the local health department, only service animals are allowed inside. When our 4-legged friends come for a visit, we ask that they enter, exit and stay inside the whiskey garden.

Can I bring my own food?

BENDT Distilling Co. offers a small food menu and does operate under a local health department permit. No outside food or beverage is allowed to be brought onto the premises. If you are celebrating a birthday and would like to offer your guests cake, we do offer BENDT Whiskey Cakes for sale by the slice or whole.

Why am I limited to purchasing 2 bottles per month?

Current Texas law restricts distillers to selling two bottles per person, per month from distilleries. As much as we would love to sell you more, our hands are tied. If you believe these laws are outdated and would like to help enact change, please reach out to your elected officials and share your opinion.

Can I buy a bottle for on-site consumption?

No. You are welcome to purchase a bottle to take home with you, but beverages consumed on-site must be purchased from the distillery during your visit. Take-home bottles must remain sealed until you have exited distillery property.

Can you ship your spirits?

Although we are not legally able to ship our spirit products, some of our out-of-state partners are able to ship bottles direct-to-consumers. For additional information, please visit the BUY BENDT page of our website.

Are masks required?

No.
